  • I’m baaaaaaaaaaaack….

I have not been doing much cyber-socializing lately, so I decided I would try to catch up on that. When I went to log onto xanga, it was no go, no matter what I tried and I sure did not have time to troubleshoot AND get caught up, too. After several days, I figured out it was the firefox browser on my computer causing the problem. I think this is rather odd, because firefox does not present a problem with other computers in this household, but if I want to log on to xanga, I gotta use explorer now. Oh well…

Our floor project is still in limbo, but hopefully the details will get worked out soon. Other stuff is finally getting done around here in the meantime. For a very long time now, I have wanted to go through cupboards and closets and find new homes for the things that have been occupying space around here but not really doing us much good any more. Since we had to drag everything out of the closets to repair the water damage from the leaky a/c hose in the closet and also to do the floors in several rooms and hallways, this just seemed like the perfect time to tackle this job, but I was not even sure where to start and the task seemed a bit daunting to me. Our daughter and her sweet hubby helped launch this massive project a few weeks ago when they came over and helped to empty out the closet in her old room and sort out what needed to go where while son-in-law gave the closet and the walls above the chair rail a fresh coat of paint.

We discovered even more water damage from a leak in the roof as I was getting ready to hang more shelves in our son’s old room, which I have pretty much claimed as my office now that our son now has his own place, too. Ever helpful son-in-law returned to help me repair the walls in that closet, too. I was getting a bit impatient for those shelves so I could work on getting my business supplies and inventory better organized and rearrange the room so that my computer, which is currently living at the other end of the house from all my business things, could be moved into that room, too. The kidney stone saga had already slowed progress on this project, then my car needed to go to the shop, we had some cable/phone/internet issues that needed to be resolved that required TWO visits from service guys, my broken tooth was demanding immediate attention and our truck needed to go back to the dealer for some recall work, all in the same week! The shelves are FINALLY up and I can return to the business of sorting, downsizing and streamlining in preparation for our floor project–except now daughter has asked me to help her make Halloween costumes for her and her sweet, helpful hubby…

  • Glad you’re feeling progress on those house tasks.  YHou’ve had a lot going onA!  Now it looks like you’ll be paying back SIL and daughter for their “sweet helpfulness!”  But I suppose that is how it works!

I also have issues sometimes with Firefox not letting me leave comments on some Xanga sites.  But it doesn’t crash as often as Internet Explorer!

  • I’m glad you’re back. Hope you get all those projects cleared up eventually. I know when you own a home, it’s always SOMETHING!

  • Welcome back…

  • Sounds like you need a beer.

  • Welcome back from me too.  What would we do without helpful sons-in-law…..son-in-laws……sons-in-laws…….whatever.  Helpful relatives.  Naturally we have to help them in return.  Will we get a picture of the costumes?

  • Wow! You have been busy while I was going to work and sleeping…

  • Whoa…you sure have had your hands full…hope things are quieting down a bit and you have a chance to catch your breath. What are you doing with  the floors…hard wood?  Did you save the Donkey stones to use for art work?

  • Wow, you have been mighty busy! Just reading all this is making me tired!!! I do hope that you found time to rest between all your projects!

  • Good to hear from you! I was wondering how you were, but have been too blah to do anything about it, or much else! LOL  Sounds like you are having fun reclaiming the house as our own! I keep having to make more room for everyone else and give up what little room I have of my own!  Hope you get your floor issues figured out soon!

  • @Still_groovy - the firefox thingy is annoying, but i can deal with it.

there is a lot happening around here right now. i did not even remember to mention the twice a week that i have been going to the chiropractor since the fender bender that happened in august. the young fellow who hit me paid for the repair to my back bumper and the shop did such a great job that i walked right past my car a number of times in the parking lot, thinking that it was too new to be mine! it got fixed in less than two days, but repair to my body is taking a bit longer…

@DanishDoll - our favorite contactor is supposed to be back in town this week, so things should get moving with all that pretty soon…

@mcbery - glad to be back and it always feels great to know that i have been missed!

@Bricker59 - are we talking about me or you here? my “drug of choice” is dark chocolate with mint and i am about to OD here in a minute…

@ata_grandma -i will work on trying to at least get the pics our daughter posted on her facebook from the patterns she bought over here to xanga, but with my skills in that area, i make no guarantees…

@Donkey_Guy_10 - and mowing the grass…and playing scrabble…and publishing the donkey times…and eating…and going to church…and taking me out to dinner after book group…thank you btw!

@dingdongdingbat - we are going for wood floors. a bunch of other work needs to get done in our family room first, though. not sure the donkey stones will be a part of any art work–the only painting that has been getting done here lately is on the walls after drywall repair, putting up shelves and the little shelf/hutch thingy i put together for the top of the dresser for storing supplies in my ”office” in the back room earlier today….

@firefighterswife - it has been making me a bit weary, too, but i am too close to give up now! hoping all is well with you & yours, too…

@beadbrat - i hope that you are feeling a bit better than just blah these days. i also wanted to say that i know it seems like your house is being taken over right now, but i am willing to bet that in the future when you have all of your space back, (and i promise you will someday) the memories made during this time will mean even more to you than having that space does…

  • welcome back and thanks for stopping by . . . been hard for me to write much worth reading lately . . .

Hvae tried FF in the past and never could really get use to it, guess I’m just stuck in the IE rut

  • Keep us posted on the floors. I love wooden floors.

  • Hi, there!  Hope all is going well with you.  I am just now seeing your reply message above, in which I am included.  I never received that!  Ahh, the “reliability” of Xanga!

Thank you for sharing this article! I really like it! Because of
their relatively low level of writing. After seeing your article, I tried to
write some of this stuff, I published here, such as Coach Outlet, Coach Outlet Canada and Coach Bags Outlet. Those are
just a large blog, here there are some small blog site, also released a number
    of articles. From http://www.usa-coach-bags.com/.
